This half term in Year 1 we are answering the Big Question ‘Are you afraid of the dark?’ We have been looking at how people celebrate using light and dark.
We had a firework display in the park and look how we are turning this into a dance.
Look at Kai in the ‘light and dark’ investigation area.

Hi Year 1, I was a visitor to your school today and I noticed you have been looking at light and dark. The year 1 children at my school are also looking at this theme. What activity has been most fun at your school about light and dark so I can suggest it to my year 1 teachers?

1KJ says investgating in the ‘light and dark’ area has been fun because you could test shiny objects and light sources in the dark box.
1SL says taking light sources to the dark room was really exciting. It was completely dark and our shiny objects didn’t work unless light was shone onto them!
